mining of coal and deforestation should be limited and should be very controlled.

Right now it can't be banned.
renewal energy sources can develop power but at higher cost as well as it is highly inconsistent.
There are various better methods like OTEC, tidal energy but not all country can afford to spend on these methods plus there are geographical boundations too.
solar and wind energy are very inconsistent.
We need technological advancements for making it illegal.

I agree that reducing carbon emissions is necessary. but there simply aren't a whole lot of options when it comes to large scale power generation.

I live in Ontario where there are large numbers of rivers and hydro power is readily available. but most people don't have access to that. renewable sources of energy tend to cost alot more to produce. if you based your entire electrical grid on renewables no one would be able to afford power. this isn't an option. until renewables advance enough to be competitive they can't replace other methods, only augment them.

nuclear is also an option but many places don't like it because of the horrible effects of an accident. even if the odds are extremely low.

coal n wood are our basic n most valuable resources. illegalising it would really hamper our way of living but their use can always be minimized. Usage of coal can always be limited by using other alternative fuels less hazardous. Cutting down trees should be permitted to those in need. I guess if such businesses are reduced 2 make less profits its usage may also reduce.

Mining of fossil fuels highly contributes to global warming which contributes to changes in the weather patterns. Coal is significantly reducing and we need to look for other sources of renewable, for example hydro power and solar. We can reduce the number of trees that are deforested. Simply because Trees are part of the convection cycles. By cutting down trees we mess with the weather patterns. Places like the equatorial forests and the Amazon in South America have a lot of rain because of the trees simply removing the trees not only destroys weather patterns and increase global warming because trees help clean our air. Country's like Uganda have been affected by global warming and weather patterns have changed so many people who survive on crops suffer from these changes.

except we need coal and we need lumber. how would you suggest we do that?
