The Pope has not come forward and radically changed church doctrine, but he has made changes. The church is slowly moving to become more tolerant, which I think is good. It won't happen overnight, but there have been positive changes.
well what do people expect of the Pope. I think he is a pointless figure head. its kind of hard for one man to radically change one of the largest religions in the world.I know he removed some corruption in the catholic politics and the fact that he at least change some perception of the church is good enough for me.
Disagree. As a Buddhist who has studied theology and religion for +15 years. The current Pope saved Christianity. If not for him, social trends illustrate the demise of a beautiful religion due to its uneducated, fundamentalist members.
The church is still the same. All the Pope is doing is setting straight some misunderstandings that the people of the church and outside the church have perceived.
He might be emphasizing some things more than before, but, yes, the Pope did not and will never change the Church's doctrine.
Just a protestant passing through.
The pope is making a huge impact on the Catholic church. He is changing the way the church views things, and setting them straight, making the church see its wrong doings.
