Let's have some comic book 101. Supergirl saved Superman's a** multiple times. Wonder Woman kicks everyones ass. Are you forgetting Black Widow? People do not make comic movies/books to appeal to the feminist minority that do not even watch and just complain about everything. They appeal to their demographics! Men do not have really appealing parts to the other gender that cannot go without censorship, but they show off everything they can. Can you name a male superhero who is fat? They show the same respect for woman too. Medusa is not even a comic book character.
feminist logic: if dealing with women, portraying women in the way that they portray themselves is sexist. if dealing with men, portraying men in a body that is worth working for is sexist. i swear some of you just need a hard slap back into common sense lmao??.
these arguements are so pathetic lmao. yes the men have abs etc because its supposed to show theyre strong and powerful. how retarded would it be to have some fat motherf***er too big to fit in his suit flying around saving people? please listen to yourself. in terms of the women, sure they wear skimpy dresses. but look around you. thats the womens fault. go outside and within 10 minutes you will come across 10 women walking around in skimpy clothe. if women didnt want their superheroins to be dressed in skimpy, slutty clothe, they shouldnt have made skimpy slutty clothing the standard. pathetic.
The Joker is the most well known and liked character in comic history, they kind of have to keep bringing him back.
Also, if you look up a list of female characters in comic books you'll realize that there's a plethora of them, many of them that could kick have the comic universes ass.
They don't do it on purpose, it's that Joker is more popular
They are both sexualized just in their own way
not true. nuff said.
I don't think that's a matter of sexism on the part of the writers. it's a matter of what the readers want. they are writing for an audience. they give that audience what they want. most comic readers have historically been guys. guys like skimpy outfits on girls. and they like seeing a hero they can identify with. a mild mannered superman. or guy with a tragic past. I don't know if they're sexist but them pandering to their fans isn't an example you can really use.
There are about 2 superhero female characters. Superwoman and catwomen. superwoman in the films is supposedly weak. its always the men who save the day. Catwomen, staying in the shadows all the time. quite cowardly if you think about it. Poison ivy is a girl and she is evil and gets defeated. Medusa is a girl is evil and gets defeated. the joker however is a male and evil. He just keeps coming back. Like lots of other films.
look at all the female characters. skimpy dresses, all of them look like hookers pretty much. the male ones all have abbs or whatnot as well.
