Just because you're rich it does not mean that you cannot be honest. It's the same for poor people -just because you're poor it does not mean that you cannot be honest.
I think this might be true. But if a study came out saying otherwise, I wouldn't be suprised. But what would push me in the direction of agreement is that poverty is a condition more often selecting for bad circumstance and less so for bad decisions (given my observation of many toeing the fine line between poor and hanging on. Meanwhile richness is a series of decisions. Often these decisions require things like secretness and war-like strategy where honest men do not last. But there are a lot of anomolies on both sides - rich authors, the poor who failed at crime, etc...
Everyone has their own morals that they tend to follow, despite economic circumstances. Rich and poor people most likely have the same distribution of morals, we just hear more about the bad stuff from the richer people since they are more in the spotlight.
That's one of many stereotypes, the same way there are poor people who also are not honest at all and choose to steal for a living, there are rich people who aren't deceiving like some say and that use their position to help others and make a change. Every person is different and thinks different and you can't blame a whole social class for a couple who share the same characteristics.
Its all about how you grow and what values you hold on to even when you prosper or even when you are bankrupt
Greed and corruption knows no economic status. Wealthy individuals are more often in the spotlight, so their misdeeds are more evident. Wealthy people may have greater access to situations to be dishonest or corrupt, simply because of their circumstances. That doesn't mean a person of lesser circumstances would not behave the same if put into their situation.
Look at all of the people on welfare or disability or unemployment who don't need any of it. Many of the people on these programs are simply lazy and don't want to work, so they lie and say they need help. These people lie even though they know that this is coming out of tax payers' pockets, HONEST TAX PAYERS' POCKETS.
economic security shouldn't be a huge weight on one's honesty. however, if one was poor, they would say whatever they had to in order to get food or money. while a rich person could have lied to get there money, though both of these things are not absolute.
Look at the corruptors in some countries. They are rich men but they steal people’s money on their ways to be rich. They lie to citizen and they will never be honest. They must be punished with imprisonment of 20 years or more. Look at the food seller near the main road. They aren’t as rich as corruptors so they sell something. They are poor but they are more honest than those corruptors.
Maybe in general. But if you get poor enough, you get desperate and honesty goes out the window.
they've just got less to hide
