Yet 15% of the world's wealth is in an off-shore account somewhere. Large Canadian corporations often pay little or no taxes. In America the rich buy laws and pay small sums for great illegal profits all the time. We couldn't give a shit about the Palestinians and agree to the Israeli rhetoric in exchange for a firm financian friendship, decree those poor oppressed people evil, but bow deeply to the Saudi oil-wealth, looking away from the iron-handed law that so often murders people to maintain power. In a way, the argument over whether or not god exists is a smokescreen if it stops us from reaching a consensus over these real evils and doing something about the honor of our civilizations.
I think it should be directly proportional to how much you earn
i agree because taxes should be based on income. getting rid of taxes is unnacceptable, because it helps run our country. but diverting it to having others who are more well off pay more, is acceptable. it wouldnt be as big of a deal for them, and in turn they would be hleping the less fortunate
