now some disagree. why is that?
that would be very proper. they would do their job a lot better if that is in fact the case.
Who wouldnt want more peace and justice from the UN? :p
There are also diplomatic matters. I think they cant simply accuse a country of genocide when its happening. They need enough proof and studies. Sometimes they get the proof too late so that's why they can only react too late.
The UN would to a really great job but it would need more support from countries. This support could be used to make more commissions to gather proof of what happens in the countries. Maybe it should have an organisation like the CSA to gather intel and react fastly.
I'm honestly surprised that this is 12-0
now there have been plenty of genecides that were ignored practically by them. there was also this place (idk where got it off ebsco but I believe Africa) where these men went and raped all the women and killed the men for I believe 3 weeks then finally the UN gets in and only punishes a few of the men on little charges because they had ties with some people. I will get the site and everything asap but that might be Monday where I am at. it's Friday 11:30pm right now.
well I've been researching their charter(basically their Constitution) and it basically says they need to provide world peace and get better relationship with other nations, stop evil, and in any disputes that could cause problems help fix them. they have steps to help with problems. first try peaceful matters, if failed they then ask the nations that are a part of them to make a force to fight it, then they send them in.
Well, they have a vocation to the greater good of countries and people. They hold convensions with experts and ministers of countries to encourage them towards a better path. They also propose non obligatory pacts for countries but they cannot have an obligatory authority. Lets say they show the path but countries are free to do as they please. They try to prevent alot of things but they rarely succeed. For me, those 'rare' successes are already alot.
This is my opinion forged from my studies, i didnt look for facts to support what i said. You are free to counter-fact what i said.
but it is usually late to the party. it missed a lot of massacres that it could of stopped. now I'm not saying we should destroy it. I would rather just get them to do there job and be more active.
It actually does a pretty good job.
