Professor Jon Lennox says that there is not 1 but 3 errors of logic in Hawkings statement," Because there is a law such as gravity the universe can and will create itself from nothing." It all boils down to circular reasoning. Hawkings is saying that the Universe exists because it needed to exist and because it needed to exist it created itself. He hasn't proven anything.
