Drinking is also an integral part of many cultures. Toasts to honour someone, a drink in memory of someone who passed away, and let's not forget wine to symbolize the blood of Christ, shed to redeem Christians for their sins. Saying that since some cultures prohibit it makes it evil is absurd. Some cultures ban pork, seafood, women showing their hair in public, technology (Amish) and all sorts of other things. Do you consider cars evil because the Amish prohibit them?

Well, drinking isn't evil. It's your own choise to ruin your internal organs, and plausibly shorten your own life.

If my family was killed one night and I saw the all killed by a murderers hand. And drinking a bottle of alcohol is evil?

4 years, 9 months ago

True. We cannot get rid of the things and forget them for a while just by drinking. We have to face them. Anyway, some cultures state drinking alcohol is forbidden. Culture, the most important concept in anthropology, is defined as the patterns of behavior and thinking that people living in social groups learn, create and share. So, drinking is evil, no matter what the purpose is.
