Our geographical position in south-east Asia affords the US one of the best positions to keep tabs on its chief economic rival, China. It also affords them a chance to follow leads into terrorist groups alleged to have links within the Philippines. Can you imagine how good the Americans will have it here in terms of gathering intelligence? They will also have access to the abundant natural resources present in the islands especially our oil reserves in the west Philippine Sea; perhaps they?ll take better care of them too than what Filipinos have done. Let's not neglect to mention that with our large and ever-growing population, I'm guessing that the Philippines will become a heavily contested state come election time.
What's in it for the US? They will not move a finger unless Philippines have something that the US can spoil.
absolutely, there is a progress. like in commonwealth they build many infrastructures and they educate the students. and if the philippines is going to be the state of america ofcourse they will sent navy and soldiers to protect one of their states so its a big change for both of them because they can more ensure the securities each side.
Not just that, additionally becoming a state of America won't make any magical progress.
so you mean pride is more important than progress
Because the proud people of Philippines never accept such a thing.
why not ?
