you are correct, however, i dont know if you read the news or not lately, but prebysterian churches have changed thier policy to "a commitment between two people" so if they realize that, then other religions can too. i am a catholic but even i know a loving god would not discriminate against one of his children for loving someone. if others can recognize that, we all can change.
We should not discriminate against gays - or anyone for that matter. Gay couples should be entitled to the same benefits as a heterosexual couple. However, the use of the word "marriage" should not be taken lightly. Perhaps a different word should be used. Religious people do not believe in gay marriage. I feel it's only right that the government respect that by making sure gay marriage doesn't go through the church. The government cannot tell a religion to accept something if it goes directly against what they stand for.
