Casinos make a lot of people happy and they provide a value service to the community. They sell you the dream.
Everybody wants to be an instant millionaire.
Before casinos were invented people would just kidnap a little girl from a wealthy family and demand a small fortune in exchange for her life.
When was the last time you saw a headline about a little rich girl being kidnapped in Las Vegas or Macau?
If you want to reduce crime you need to open more casinos in european countries without any casinos.
Not everybody is a kidnapper.
Sometimes you are just hungry and you need to find a place where you can get a hot meal for free and casinos have buffets. They are not free but they charge a very little amont of money for an unlimited amount of food.
If you are really hungry and you have not eaten anything in three days, you can murder somebody at a gas station to steal his wallet or you can beg a few coins and eat until you cannot eat anymore.
