We are people. How can you claim both that "people" don't think it is racist and that we know it is? What people think that?
my point is the general people don't think saying "black people are better at basketball" is racist, but we know it is.
Alex, I have never actually heard someone say that only white people can be racist. I have heard lots of people complain about other people saying/thinking that, but I've never actually heard anyone say it. I am sure there are people on the Internet who have, but you can find people who endorse Last Thursdayism on the Internet so I'm not sure how well they represent the general public.
The easiest way to tell if something is racist is to look at whether you are judging an entire group. "Black people are better at basketball" is racist. "Asian people are smarter" is also racist. Not all racism is negative, but it is still racism.
I'm just wondering who says this thing you claim everyone says. if it's so common finding a decent quote from a respectable liberal should be easy.
and these are the type of things I do hear regularly, mostly from right wing talk show hosts, aka rush Limbaugh... and nowhere else.
looking back I don't see where I bashed any conservatives, only citing where I hear those quotes. ignorant entertainers.
when I bash conservatives, I name conservative leaders and prominent figures. you on the other hand just bash liberals in general repeatedly. not sure how you can defend that accusation in light of that.
I don't know why you made this a "hate on conservatives topic" and I'm unclear what your point is.
of course no specific quote lol. no one says that except for maybe a teenager screaming into a Web cam before he decides to actually read some news.
oh and conservative talk show hosts who claim to hear that everywhere but also never provide a source.
the general stupid people of america.
who thinks/says that?
I know, but people seem to think only white people can be racist.
not all racism is equal. white people are being forced to confront guilt, rightfully or not. black people have been discriminated economically and routinely killed by authorities unjustly. nowhere near the same effect.
lmao, "Asian people are smarter than white people" is totally racist!!!!
here's the giveaway, you are judging entire groups based on their race, good or bad, it's racist, no matter the race in question.
why is this the case?
if someone says "white people are dumber then Asians" that isn't wrong or racist. but if someone says "whites are smarter then Mexicans" that is racist. if someone says "blacks are better at football" that is true and not racist. if someone says "whites are better at baseball" that is wrong and racist.
it seems to me whites are held to way higher standards when it comes to racism.
I agree. Though it feels like it has been growing
but nowhere near as much
