He still has liberal ideas. No Conservative claims that he is the ideal Conservative, for a lot of us chose Ted Cruz. He is just a better alternative to Hillary. Even if trump is a liberal, there is some room for hope since we all know what Hillary would do.
because Republicans love him, for some reason.
and can someone tell me why Reagan is at the top of the list?
I'm sure you do like when he nonchalantly says highly liberal things like tax the rich and paid time off for workers that conservatives like yourselves have bashed liberals about for decades....
and then he says the exact opposite and flip flops back and forth 5x per day....
and his record of ignoring promises once getting what he wants....
what exactly are his ideological stances?
many of those groups support Hillary over trump, but are not that excited about Hillary either. if they don't turn out, president trump may become a reality.
Ronald Reagan or Abraham Lincoln
Trump is doing very well I'm certain demographics and he is tanking in much more important demographics. minorities, women, and those with college education are pretty much against him. and those demographics are critically important.
Well im banking on the hope that hillary will be far worse than trump in ideological stances, so i can somewhat rectify the fact that trump is the nominee and pull the lever anyway. And i do like his natural, non-pussyfooting approach to things.
scary but true.
As of now I would consider it a toss up. There is no definitive way to say who will be president--it is now a matter of endurance.
trump is not, nor shall he ever be, president.
Me,Myself, and I am the best prez of the U.S.
I love Madison
and what qualifies Reagan to be at the top of the list?
Lincoln managed to keep the country together at its most perilous point in history. he certainly meets being at or near the top of the list.
you may want to try to be specific on your names. I thought you meant teddy Roosevelt. Franklin D. Roosevelt is usually referred to as FDR.
your argument depends heavily on how you rank best President. does that mean smartest president? the one who did the most good?
if you are referring to who did the most good then it is certainly subjective.
I would argue that FDR helped set up the conditions for the cold war and helped bring on decades of conflict.
I would argue Reagan is a hugely over rated president.
you have a good knowledge of everything
Before you get mad and judge me on my list for saying Reagan infront of FDR because "he stopped WW2 and fixed the economy", we cannot judge them solely on that because how much presidents have the same oppurtunities to fight world wars and great depressions?
That is like if we put FDR into the 50s and Bush into the 1920s, would FDR be any less off a president and would Bush be any more of a president? Hell no! Be glad that I have a Democrat on the list.
