because feminism has turned into an excuse for women to hate men and play victim to every little problem they have even when it's not really a problem
Because feminism and egalitarianism are basically the same thing. But it's called feminism instead of egalitarianism because females are the ones in the sub-optimal position in the scenario, and the name draws attention to that.
the wage gap has been adjusted for career choice and experience. it shrinks considerably, but it also grows if you remove low wage work (everyone is equal at the minimum wage). the higher one moves up, the higher the difference. although there are still many factors that are not considered and could explain it.
however, the solutions such as non retaliation for discussing wages amongst co workers and banning the "how much were you paid before" question seems to be effective and non damaging solutions regardless of whether the complaint is valid. it's not like they are demanding mass raises blindly!
They also are arguing this on the woman's world cup for soccer since the woman earned less money even though they earn 13% and the men only earn 9%.
I'd never call someone feminist for wanting equal pay for equal work. That's egalitarian
Because the wage gap exists due to career gender preferences. Engineering and technology fields pay far more than nursing and social work. It's rarely the same work that's paid differently.
