true or we can try to work it out.
you don't have to be different people to hate. any excuse will do, even being from the east side instead of the west, or supporting a different sports teams. people will find an excuse.
went on this because you said that this happened because we became different people, therefore the divide was legitamete. all the divisions are just excuses and are equally invalid.
peace between mankind will come when we evolve socially, or get an external object to focus our collective hate.
OK so what do u mean by this. I seem to have missed the point?
yes. I was talking about the British as well.
It was agreed that art is political speech by SCOTUS.
I was talking about the British on that.
we were the same people.
we were simply made into a separate group, a separation that doesn't fit into the classic "hated groups" that we are trained to recognize but have no weight in the quality or quantity of total hate.
us vs them is the basis of all hate, and any distinction will qualify.
we fought against "them". and bearing their flag can be seen as treason against "us"
we were us, and they were them.
we weren't a dif. race but race does not matter. we were a diff. people by then
true. if we ban it then u also need to ban burning the flag.
a flag is not freedom of speech either...
politicsasusual, you speak as though the british were a completely different race of people who were oppressing you. treason was seperating from the united kingdom you moron so technically...you get the gyst
To be fair, the north wasn't really against slavery until it gave them a political advantage. Slavery wasn't nearly as cut and dry a topic as people like to make out.
and of all the designs, why did they pick one that incorporated the union jack from the nation which we had to fight to attain our independence?
even the design screams treason.
I do think the confederate flag, which fought with and tried to leave the union, should not be banned, but is a symbol of un-American treason. these people who are often the same ones who are ultra nationalist now, should be reminded that that flag was the banner of those who wished to leave this great nation.
oh yeah, and they supported the enslavement and ownership of human beings.
it should not be banned, but I see no pride in that flag, only treason and inhumanity.
The Confederate flag has been adopted by racist groups, but it was not actually a racist symbol. To ban it is excessive and unnecessary.
for those people the flag means rebellion and freedom.
well we have freedom of speech. also if u look back in history the south revolted agaisnt many more things than slavery. slavery was just the tipping point.
The swastika is banned in germany. So why cant the US ban the confederate flag?
