Those looking for reasons to believe in the soul could as easily claim that, since the identity moves to the new body, the identity is contained in the soul, not the body. I have talked to people who believe that the mind is not where our thoughts really originate, it is simply the connection between the soul and the body. I don't share that belief, but moving the mind to a new body would not discourage their faith.

I don't know Dave. Think about it, in Genesis it said that God breathed air into man's nostrils and man became a living soul. I don't think the soul would be in someone's head but regardless when these operations start happening, it will bring up lots of questions and for me almost point to man not having a soul. Even then, you can't prove there is a soul or not a soul 100% anyway but only give the best evidence and for me, this would be some big evidence.

While I can understand the logic behind this, I'm not sure it would disprove the soul. If the soul is located in the head, or in the brain, moving the head to a new body takes the soul with it. The eyes are said to be the windows to the soul (though I am aware that it is not a biblical expression) so that would lend credibility to the idea that the soul is contained in the head.

so to give my argument here, first I want to go over what the brain transplant is going to consist of. In the near future, the first brain transplant will be done on a human being and this involves taking the head of someone and putting said head on an entirely new body. Now this has been done already on a dog and it lived for up to 9 days. The bible specifically mentions man does have a soul connected to his body and we'll in the bible it said in one portion that the same soul mentioned was located in the temple of a man assuming that temple meant body. Now this brings up the question, does. man indeed not have a soul? Think about it and what would happen if this brain transplant Is a sucess. This would almost prove there is no soul attached to man and that it's just all in your head. It would make sense honestly to me, how about you? would this convince you believers or are we going to say the soul is inside the head or the soul is going to follow the person's head onto their new body? Now that wouldn't make sense.
