When would the human race have been a few thousand people?

PsychDave i see your point. But isn't that how the human population started out in the first place? As a couple thousand people?

While there are bunkers, I have yet to see a plan that would allow sufficient numbers to survive to make a viable attempt at repopulation. If 1000 people were saved in a bunker, the resulting inbreeding as they waited for the surface to stop being toxic would end the species. If WW3 is fought with nuclear weapons, WW4 will have to be fought by a different species.

It's not about bunkers. the amount of nuclear weapons available would destroy the world. When a nuclear winter sets in it won't matter.

Historybuff think about all the underground bunkers in our country built by government and doomsday preppers alike. Plus the small island countries likely to survive a nuclear war such as hawaii.

If world war 3 is fought with nukes then there won't ever be a world war 4. everyone will be dead and irradiated.
