Breakfast is meant to "break the fast" which your body enters when you go to sleep. If you go too long without eating then your body enters starvation mode, thinking it's not going to get food. Then, when you do decide to eat something, it goes straight to storage (fat). It is important for your metabolism, as well as your blood sugar, to eat small frequent meals.
I do believe that we should never skip breakfast because it is an important meal of the day. When we wake up in the morning, we have an empty stomach. Our body needs energy to do activities so it is really important to have breakfast to start the day. Some people think that having breakfast will make them gain more weight, but I don't agree with that because it is just a matter of food choice or diet. We can choose food that is nutritious and healthy, but it does not make us gain more weight.
It's the most important meal, however it's also the one that adults often skip.
Sometimes your sleeping is so much better than a breakfast!
Does coffee and cigarettes count?
