I find it deeply disturbing when people treat pets like children. Pets are animals not human. They lack the capacity to think like we do - they just want to eat, sleep, play and get attention. There is something wrong with people who are that obsessed with their pets, it is not healthy. If your animal mourns your absence to the point it will not eat without you near, you are doing the animal a grave disservice. Animals should be loved and cared for yet be free to act like they are supposed to.
